  Authentic Intellectual Work: Part 1   The Authentic Intellectual Work (AIW) Framework in Education focuses on learning experience s where students are active participants in inquiry, engaged in meaningful and constructive thinking to make a connection to the real world. AIW differs from tradi tional approaches to education by em phasizing original app lications of knowledge and skills that ha ve meaning outside of the s c hool, preparing students for the future.   Components of Authentic Intellectual Work   The Framework consists of three components that produce  high-quality learning experiences for students.
